The Crown of Shadows Part 1
About
In a world where power is the domain of men and gods, one woman’s defiance becomes legend.
Princess Laurent has always been underestimated. When her father’s death thrusts her into the heart of a divided kingdom, she claims the crown, only to face fierce opposition from her people and the fanatical religious order that answers to the God of Light.
But Laurent refuses to back down.
With razor-sharp cunning and indomitable will, she outmaneuvers her enemies and challenges a patriarchal world. Yet claiming her throne is only the beginning—her ultimate ambition is far greater: to defy the God of Light himself.
Her journey plunges her into a high-stakes battle of wits and will with the celestial deity, a confrontation filled with tension, danger, and an unexpected spark of forbidden desire. The God of Light, captivated by Laurent’s unyielding spirit and fierce heart, begins to see her not as a rival, but as his equal.
Torn between duty, ambition, and her growing feelings, Laurent must decide: will she risk everything for her throne, her people, and her forbidden love? Or will the cost of defying the gods be too great to bear?
Embark on a tale of intrigue, power, romance, and rebellion in “The Crown of Shadows: The Queen’s Defiance Against the God of Light.” Perfect for fans of strong heroines, forbidden love, and epic battles between mortals and gods.

I absolutely adore this book. The story was top notch and the people were all likeable. I loved how the story flowed and the way that it ended was *chef's kiss* it was just all around amazing, I need the next one to learn more of the story, because dang it was so full of surprises and ups and downs.
Very enticing for those who care for a strong female presence. The unfortunate truths of history does make an appearance.
